Uto Kulm - Top of Zurich

Uto Kulm - self-styled "Top of Zürich" is a rather nice restaurant and hotel complex on top of the Uetliberg. You can see the buildings in this photo, to the left of the big telecom tower.

Today I started out early for a walk along the ridge of the Uetliberg, and after getting to the top the first thing on my mind was breakfast, so I stopped there. Although quite a posh establishment, it's also very welcoming and they don't mind sweaty Scotsmen dropping in for coffee and buns. The restaurant has a great panoramic view.

You get views along the ridge of the Uetliberg, and also to the far-off high mountains of North East Switzerland and the Berner Oberland. Here is a distant view of the latter, with far left the elegant pyramid of the Finsteraarhorn and on the right the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau complex. It's a bit difficult though to distinguish them in this distant and hazy view.
